An Inside Job Restoring The Human

For an individual facing illness, trauma or pain, restoration of the person is the need.

When AI becomes corrupted, behaves inconsistently, produces problematic outputs or is affected by bad data, the system too needs restoration or correction.

Metaphorically, correcting problems in both can be called ‘healing.’ Debugging, retraining or fine tuning, data cleaning, debiasing, red-teaming, safety monitoring and alignment are, poetically speaking, forms of “AI healing.” Technically, however they are not healing in the biological or psychological sense.

Can AI help humans in Healing? So far, it can participative through emotional reflection, companionship, education, communication, understanding information, journaling and identifying patterns in thinking. It can participate, but it is not the healer.

For humans, healing is a physical, mental and emotional process of recovering from illness, trauma or pain. It goes beyond curing a symptom; it can restore balance to the whole person — mind, body and spirit. Since every individual experiences pain and processes trauma differently, healing remains a deeply personal journey.

Healings is an inside job. It often involves introspection, acceptance, and the passage of time. The body has its own remarkable ability to repair damaged skin, muscle and bone, fight infection and reduce inflammation. Emotional healing may begin by admitting that a past event or loss hurt us, and allowing the mind and nervous system to gradually feel safe again.

Everybody has losses, they are unavoidable in life. Sharing our pain can be healing. Sometimes healing ourselves is connected with healing others. When we begin working together, caring for one another and sharing our burdens, healing can take place.

Forgiveness may be one of the most important contributions we make to ourselves and to the world. Patience is another. Some wounds take time, and some healing cannot be hurried. At times it is also a matter of opportunity. Wounds are often the opening into the best and the most beautiful part of us.

Perhaps healing the soul, mind and body is not about silencing every thought, but about allowing the inner self to find peace. The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind. There are wounds that never show on the body, yet can hurt deeply. If we do not heal from what hurt us, we may unknowingly pass the hurt on to people who never caused it.

Our planet doesn’t need more successful people, it desperately needs more peacemakers, healers, restorers and lovers of all kinds.

The principle of healing is within man himself. The wise observe that a person’s power to heal himself, or extend healing to others, is measured by his awareness of God within him. Perhaps that is why healing ultimately, is not merely about returning to who we were. It is about discovering who we can become after the wound.

Sarab Rog Ka Aukhad Naam is a line from the SGGS Ang 274- signifies that meditating on God's name (Naam Simran) serves as the ultimate spiritual and emotional remedy to heal worldly sufferings, inner turmoil, ego, and afflictions of the mind and body.
