Common gossip is good material for many to listen or read. I ventured to research what is it people talked with their God. This is not about the prescribed religious prayers; the scriptures we recite daily, but generally talking to God and how much they mean it with their actions. “Walking Our Talk With God”.
As a guest at a relative’s place couldn’t miss noticing each time the elder entered the prayer room he would hold the handle to the door close eyes and wait for fraction of seconds. On questioning I was explained that entry to the Guru’s room requires more respect than the boss’s room we seek permission to enter. The sanctity and respect in the mind was some learning. He also humbly said I talk my day with Him and request my God to come with me as I proceed to my daily work and on return seek Shamma (forgiveness) for my conscious and unconscious wrong doings, Shukrana (gratitude) for all what wellness came my way, Nadar (grace) seeking his grace for the next breath and worldly meaningful desires I pursue.
A lot of people were traced talking to their God seeking more wealth. There was this wealthy man who came daily to the temple talking to God though being wealthy I am still not happy. A wise man seeing his predicament asked him to put 20 gold coins and give any man talking to God wanting wealth. They found one regular visitor to the temple relatively poor and gave him the bag saying this is 20 gold coins, God sends you. Happily he took it home and on counting found 19 coins. He spent the next few months unhappy looking for the one coin that was missing around the temple and the path to his home. That one coin was removed by the wise man from the bag and returned to the wealthy man, making him realise how unhappiness trails many souls even when they receive. The one thing when short, you keep talking and complaining making yourself miserable while the 10 others you received are far forgotten.
A mountaineer’s rope loop got unlocked and he was slipping down the mountain on a dark snowy night. All efforts by the man to stop his falling failed and it now seemed a fall to death. The mountaineer started talking to his God “I trust in you please help me in this challenging moment”. In some time his rope got hooked to something and his falling stopped. Now in the darkness he was dangling mid-air and he kept talking to God to help. A voice answered cut loose the rope that you are gripping to. Not once but many times the voice repeated cut the rope, but the man did not release the rope. Next morning he was found dangling frozen to death 10 feet above the ground. Only if he truly had faith and listened to the voice that asked him to cut the rope, that fall was only 10 feet from ground and he would have been alive. Not many qualify to Walk their Talk.
Whenever we face challenges and our actions fail our talk, the likely gains only slip away.
Wishing you much wellness and prosperity,
Pray for divine grace and bliss throughout New Year 2022.
