Caution With The INFORMERS YOU CHOOSE
Ever wondered about the three kinds of informer’s people put to use and their impact on us?
God- given informer – human developed informer – artificial informer.
We hold the gift of life, yet often fail to understand the wonderfully programmed body our Divine has created to help us, particularly when we face danger or make wrongful choices.
The Amygdala, a small almond-shaped structure in the brain's limbic system, acts like an internal alarm. During a crisis, it triggers a rapid chain of responses. The hypothalamus activates the sympathetic nervous system, sending signals through the body like high-speed electrical wiring. The adrenal glands then release emergency chemicals into the bloodstream, preparing the body for the familiar “fight-or-flight” response. Heart rate rises, airways dilate, pupils widen and digestion slows, directing the body's resources towards immediate survival.
The body has other ‘informers’ too, which we have to develop ourselves. Experience, Intuition, Gut feeling. For generations these have helped the wise navigate crisis and challenges, responding to events in life- joyful, painful and mundane. Do we simply ignore them, or do we pause to understand, interpret, listen, see what they may be telling us?
Experience is not merely what happens to us. It is what we do with what happens to us. Experience can become a catalyst for creativity- taking sadness, despair or even a sense of injustice and putting it to work to change what can be changed.
Then there is intuition- a rapid mental process through which the brain draws upon past experiences and recognises patterns. It may not tell us what we want to hear; it may alert us to what we need to hear.
Gut feeling often accompanies intuition as a physical sensation—a tightness in the chest, a sinking feeling in the stomach, or butterflies. It is the body's way of accompanying an internal conclusion when facts may still be incomplete.
We often distance ourselves from learning the wisdom contained in our holy scriptures and from understanding our own inner selves, while investing enormous effort in teaching and programming artificial intelligence to become our external ‘informer’.
AI can be an extraordinary tool. It can inform, assist, analyse and help us learn. But dependence is another matter. A trend towards surrendering small decisions to intelligent devices is already visible— our footsteps, heartbeat, sleep, directions and daily routines. Smart glasses can place information before our eyes; connected devices can listen, observe and assist.
From monitoring our bodies, technology is now moving towards neurotechnology capable of capturing brain activity (EEG) and other bio signals. Research is also exploring devices such as earbuds and headsets that can detect brain activity and other bio signals from around the ear, potentially allowing real-time monitoring of aspects of our brain and body.
What happens when technology moves from helping us understand ourselves to increasingly predicting our behaviour? What happens when systems know more about our patterns, emotions and vulnerabilities than we consciously recognise ourselves?
Today, our unpredictability is part of being human. We can question. We can disagree. We can change our minds. We can reject a system. We can experience a spiritual awakening.
Should we ever create systems that can interfere with that freedom, the consequences could be far more serious than an ordinary technological mistake. Categorised as wellnes and health products the Transhumanism push agenda by some AI developers seem to build AI systems understand you, predict you, eventually influence you with emotions and impulses directly into the mind.
Strange, isn't it? The human being may be creating an enemy for himself in the desire to play God. Perhaps the real danger is not that AI becomes too intelligent. Perhaps it is that humans become too dependent on the intelligence outside themselves.
Scripture states that God created humans in His image with specific physical limits, vulnerabilities, and purposes. Before we create more artificial informers, perhaps it is time to listen more carefully to the informers already given to us.
Experience – Intuition - Gut feeling - Conscience………. the wisdom within.
It is time to take CAUTION with the INFORMER you choose to hold in times to come.
