Be the person who overcomes things, be the one to get the better of defeat in competition or conflict, to conquer, to succeed in dealing or gaining control of difficulties and even to overpower or overwhelm with emotions.
Knowing the need to overcome is important as it builds inner strength and character in overcoming obstacles. The process teaches self-responsibility brings in a complete understanding “if it's to be, it's up to me,” and if you caused the obstacle by overextending yourself—you know not to do it again.
The world will bring upon its hardships but what becomes of you depends upon what you can overcome. Be the being full of overcoming it.
The first learning is to believe in yourself and knowing that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle. Overcoming this fear one can never run away from challenges, instead run towards it and make fear escape as you encounter it. Just thinking will not overcome fear but appropriate actions will and you soon realise everything you want is on the other side of fear.
Many acknowledge the hardest times often have been their greatest moments of their life. A river cuts through a rock not because of its power but its persistence, thus do not give up and overcome obstacles through learning and strategy. Those on this path will realise difficult times have helped each time to understand things better than before. Challenges are what make life interesting, overcoming them is what makes it meaningful and never to confuse a single defeat with a final defeat.
A lot of people carry excess baggage all the time, better to overcome the tug of people against you. Hold no grudges and practice forgiveness, this is the key in having peace in all relationships. Watch out for the guilt within which is always hungry and don’t let it consume you. Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcome the consequences or misfortune and never blame others for your mistakes. There are moments when trouble enters our lives and we can do nothing to avoid them. They are there for a reason and only when we overcome them we understand why they were there.
If we didn’t have obstacles to overcome and never faced impossible situations we wouldn’t see the greatness of Gods power. Gurbani has many verses to overcome many a desires on the loitering mind in a materialistic world.
Sharing a verse from Gurbani that Nanakji found bliss in. “sarvanee keertan sun-o din raatee hirdai har har bhaanee”….. “I chant His Name with my tongue. With my ears, I listen to the Kirtan of His Praises, day and night. I love the Lord, Har, Har, with all my heart. When the Guru helped me to overcome the five thieves, then I found ultimate bliss, attached to the Naam. The Lord has showered His Mercy on servant Nanak; he merges in the Lord, in the Name of the Lord. SGGS Ang1200.
