Exchange of thoughts and feelings by means of speech or sign language is conversation. Conversation comes with an emotional state or reaction, an idea or belief produced by thinking. Now that’s a whole lot of you hence one needs to be responsible. Interestingly in a 2018 journal of Royal Society B: Biological sciences, a study confirms two way conversations are common amongst some species of animals too.

Some of the many challenges with human conversations are that everyone has their own style, their own perceptions, and their own life experiences that factor into how interactions are interpreted.

Debate-Dialogue-Discourse-Diatribe could be a type of conversation you are indulging in. In terms of levels in communication, you could be in Verbal- Physical- Auditory- Emotional or Energetic as defined by Scott Jeffery’s writings. Other cautions for effective conversations are: talk and listen alternately, keep communication a two way street, emphasis on one word in each sentence, enunciate every word when you speak, pause occasionally etc. The difficulty of not being able to make a conversation with someone is often a self to blame, nothing beyond.

In the courts of law conversations are the only way to process and procure justice; however the legal profession fails in doing justice to itself. I say this based on a TOI reporting of 15th April 2012, 4.4crs cases are pending in Indian courts. What’s stopping them from making conversations to conclusions? Similarly failure in making conversations to our Lord many are piling up their cases of karmas that otherwise with conversations could easily seek pardon. “In the Society of the Saints, spiritual conversations take place. The sinful mistakes of millions of incarnations are erased.” SGGS 199

Conversation with their Lord for many is easier; as the lord is their love, their way of life, the lord is their speech and conversation. Their conversation is with the Lords name and their counselling is with the Lords name which takes care of them.

Gurbani says

“The Lord is my only friend; my companionship is with the One Lord alone. My conversation is with the One Lord alone; He never frowns, or turns His face away. He alone knows the state of my soul; He never ignores my love.” SGGS 958

In 2017 a research article by Paul Petrone mentions an average person speaks at least 7,000 words a day. Blessed are those who give a tenth of a day’s time share, for Divine conversations. Our thirst of spiritual conversation will lead us beyond what we experience in our daily life contributing towards our wholeness and beauty before God. Converse in praise of the lord and his creations, converse for forgiveness, converse for gratitude, converse for grace…. these are your better rewarding conversations during the day.
