THEIR LIVING ENLIVEN OURS

For years an elderly Peer was in meditation. Over the years he had many disciples and learned visitors coming to him. Although on the spiritual path for long he was unhappy for not having reached the zenith of high realization with the divine. One day in his prayers he asked the Creator to show him the path or send a Vali (Godsman) to guide him. There came an Akashvani that Baba Nand Singhji is some distance away and he should go meet him.

After few days of travel he reached the place. On reaching the sevadhars told the peer that Baba Sant Singh ji is in Bandagi & they should kindly wait. The Peer removed his footwear and sat down along with his disciples. Baba Nand Singh ji an enlightened soul was well aware of the reasons of the peer’s visit. Post his meditation got up and walked up to the Peer, gave him a glance then picked the Peers footwear touched them on his fore head as mark of respect placed it down and walked away, without saying a word.

The Peer started to cry as he realized the Gyan behind the act, without a word being said. Bring NIMRATA( Humility) in you.

The Peer learnt humility as in “not thinking less of yourself but thinking of your self less".

“ Listening and believing with love and humility in your mind, cleanse yourself with the Name, at

the sacred shrine deep within “.

Namrata (humility) is a virtue that is vigorously promoted by Sikh Gurus. An important quality for all humans & an essential part of a true Sikh’s mind set.

“Humality is the mother of all virtues: purity, charity, and obedience. It is in being humble that our love becomes real, devoted and ardent. If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are. If you are blamed you will not be discouraged, if they call you a saint you will not put yourself on a pedestal. “ - Mother Teresa
