Concrete jungle or humans’ zoo are some of the expressions to city lifestyle. There is though a sacred place for silent minds and deep souls to experience the depths of a jungle with thick trees, plants, insects, birds, reptiles, animals, wild beasts and a large mass of our creator’s creations. The wilderness is a place that every human must experience to be molded for the divine purpose. A place; where you can let nature nurture your soul, hearing yourself and come out taller than the trees.
The birds sit in peace and chirp and then there are, bark, bleat, bellow, gibber, hiss, howl, roars, screams, trumpet the sounds and languages in the animal kingdom. Callings from some animals & birds convey warnings when a predator is near, which even helps safari guides locate big beasts. The jungle environment brings great learning’s.
Animals inspire us to be less busy, less worried, more joyful more present and passionate each day in life. An anthill is an understanding of the world’s smallest engineering species the Ants; their cooperation and connection with their community is a learning to align self with others which helps propel one to another level. Until one has loved an animal part of one’s soul remains unawaken, when done one realizes the best therapist has fur & four legs.
In the jungle environment one sees resilience and strength in all livings overcoming adversity which inspires us to face our challenges. The animals do not get their strength from lifting weights but from lifting themselves each time one is knocked down. There is always an adventure waiting in the woods a constant struggle; survival of the fittest. Being strong is their only choice and the strongest hearts have the most scars.
The strength of the pack is the wolf and the strength of the wolf is the pack and none kills for sport. All animals fall, they break, they fail but then rise heal and overcome. They turn their wounds into wisdom. A beast comes kills one from a heard and moves away with its catch. The rest of the herd from a distance, exhibits strength makes way through grief, hold their life and move forward. With every lifesaving run comes new strength and learning how to be strong alone.
Eagles holding grip is ten times stronger than an adult. If size mattered the elephant would have been the king, but it is the lion for its ability and strength. King lion though has healthy respect for the elephant.
In many cultures animals are considered sacred and divine. Having seen beasts in close quarters there was nothing beastly in their response; however humans seem to qualify being more beastly to animals and their own clan. Gurbani in Ang751 states “Those who wear white clothes, but have filthy and stone-hearted minds, may chant the Lord’s Name with their mouths, but they are engrossed in duality; they are thieves. They do not understand their own roots; they are beasts. They are just animals!”.
Animals also feel pain and experience joy; hence humans need to treat them accordingly. Cruelty to creatures is cruelty with the Creator. There’s a spiritual bond that connects all souls; human, animal and lower forms of life. Now with many rights and laws in place for animals & wildlife, humans now relate and behave better with them.
A lion doesn't lose sleep over the opinions of others, as humans may our strengths be undying, our self-beliefs be unchangeable, in overcoming the beastly desires of vices that surround our environment.
