What if we try a mental surrender of our ownership to life? We are referring to a complete surrender of the body & mind to our spiritual master. An 1896 publication “What Would Jesus Do” by Charles Sheldon carried a powerful truth on living out the Christian life. As Congregational minister on a fine Sunday morning to all present he said for one year begin to center on one question before any action you do, ask yourself “What Would Jesus Do.”

Change of ownership and completely surrendering body and mind to your Spiritual Master’s, could bring ‘Your Better Version.” Most ordinary responses to the caption would be; improve health, have a positive attitude, be patient, follow your dreams, become financially successful, turn passion to your carrier etc. However the wisdom of Divine offers a different insight to how we must understand our mind and body making the best of our body and most importantly appreciate our body.

The word ‘sacred’ and its meaning are well known to all. When in a place of worship we are careful not to disturb the serenity and peace, hence are quiet, respectful and feel so peaceful. Let’s consider ‘your body sacred’ and then possibly you will get more cautious and conscious to what goes IN and comes Out of it.

If eyes were sacred to you how would you treat them? Surely you will be cautious what you want them to look at and what not to see.

Now bring your attention to your ears if they were sacred, who and what would you want them to listen and learn.

If we were to consider our mouth sacred we would change many a habits and choice of foods & drinks we currently take in. We would take great caution to what a sacred mouth utters. Liberties on harsh/bad words and lies will be replaced with expressions of love, encouragement, praise, bhakti and simran.

The day we treat our back(spine) and its muscles sacred, unending gratitude flows for the creator for the support it gives our body in the movements of the head, neck, shoulders, arms and legs.

If only you treated your heart & lung sacred you realize its importance to your life and gratitude for its functioning without your attention. Many a poor habits would change to keep it better as a caretaker.

If your stomach was sacred you would ensure better nourishment always. Recall the infant size you were, it is the stomach all along processing your food for you to be the physically grown up today.

If your arms and hands were sacred for you, they would always be used to serve and not hurt others. Every single day you would account if they served someone.

If your knees and legs were sacred you would think of the places they took you and what good they have done. You soon realize what places you would not want to go again and what places you would want to repeat.

The body responds to faster healings when individuals mindfully communicate with their organs or body parts. For many being in gratitude for the gift of life with their divine daily, enjoy in return ‘much wellness’. Let’s not take our body for granted least care less. Consider it to be a temple and accept your role as its caretaker serving it well. This change brings a better version of ourselves with everything we do as in our thoughts, words and actions.

Blessed is the Soul in a sacred body,

‘Lives in Peace’ and when leaving body ‘Rests in Peace.’
