thinking differently

There are blessed minds around us who consider or reason things in a manner that makes them so different from where we stand. Reading or listening about their Soch ignites our minds to imbibe the purity, reality, truth & consciousness of their Soch to become ours too. Often appropriate questions do not touch the shores of our mind. Just as sailing vessels are not meant to be anchored at shore all the time, our minds need to frequently be sailing meeting waves of wisdoms that will help us tide easy through the deep ocean of life.

Are we actually aware the influence of Soch has on our words we say, the habits we then develop, grooming our mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual called character and with all combined shaping us to manage our destiny. The importance and power in Soch is expressed with a short story and surely should put many a minds to think differently.

A King walking with his minister comes across a mansion that was seemingly in their path and for which they had to take a roundabout. The king asked the minister to bring down the mansion and relocate it. The minister was a wise man, aware the mansion been there for years. He visited the owner of the mansion the following day and asked the wealthy many what and how does he feel about the King. The man remained silent to which the minister said if only you share your Soch with me maybe then I could help you”. The man reluctantly said he had purchased very large quantities of sandalwood when the king was critically ill to meet its demand on the King’s death. But soon the health of the king improved and I am now stuck with the stocks. Daily I pray the death of the king so that I get rid of my stocks. With a moments silence the minister tells the man what if all your stocks are purchased. The wealthy man was very happy and all praise for the kingdom. I will daily pray for the wellbeing of the King, well do that the minister said assertively and he left. The minister kept his word and the Soch of the wealthy man was now praying for the king’s wellbeing. A few days later the King and minister were walking the same path and the King questioned why the mansion is still not pulled down. The minister apologised and assured an action soon. Resuming their walk, a little ahead King stops looks at the mansion and tells his minister “never mind leave it, taking the roundabout is fine”. The minister in his mind smiled for he knew the Universe often listens to our vibrations and was confident the Soch of the wealthy man would bring a change in the Kings Soch too. All of us in our space nurse much mess which can be simply be improved with our Soch all the time.

Gurbani has all along been advising and influencing the individual’s Souch and those who accept and exercise are blessed to do good for themselves and others.

“When he believes others to be bad, then everyone lays traps for him. But when he stops thinking in terms of 'mine' and 'yours', then no one is angry with him.

When he clings to 'my own, my own', then he is in deep trouble. But when he recognizes the Creator Lord, then he is free of torment.

When he entangles himself in emotional attachment, he comes and goes in reincarnation, under the constant gaze of Death. But when all his doubts are removed, then there is no difference between him and the Supreme Lord God.

When he perceives differences, then he suffers pain, punishment and sorrow. But when he recognizes the One and Only Lord, he understands everything.

When he runs around for the sake of Maya and riches, he is not satisfied, and his desires are not quenched. But when he runs away from Maya, then the Goddess of Wealth gets up and follows him.

When, by His Grace, the True Guru is met, the lamp is lit within the temple of the mind. When he realizes what victory and defeat really are, then he comes to appreciate the true value of his own home.“
