How rare is an individual who has never been told "Bakvaas Mat Karo", “What Nonsense”. Bakvaas (nonsense) refers to ideas, words, or actions that are silly, untrue, or lack any sense. People often use the word to dismiss something they believe is ridiculous or simply not true. Nonsense may not inherently be a bad word but it can be used in a negative and disrespectful way to convey that something makes no sense or is foolish, leading to negative reactions from the listener.
The pendulum of the mind swings between sense and nonsense, not between right and wrong. Mistaken ones think they are taking a stand. No one is exempt from talking nonsense, the misfortune is when untruly speech and actions are delivered to confuse a larger audience in a sincere manner on formal platforms. Nonsense when served business like is all about tool kit strategies designed to influence opinions, false awareness and worse to mobilize social unrest even with unruly ugly protest. Nonsense no more just remains the harmless talk when weaponized in dividing people. Need of the hour is to have deep concerns & many prayers for good sense to prevail.
For earlier generations nonsense carried a sharp negative connotation, often felt as an insult. But for many in today’s younger generation, it has become casual, even playful – because common sense feels so scarce. Common sense is something everyone needs; few truly have and fewer are willing to admit they lack. For some in Gen Z, nonsense even becomes a coping mechanism – a way to laugh off or navigate the anxieties of an uncertain world. It is very unfortunate when this casual nonsense is intentionally cultivated in the corridors of politics and religion, shaping mindsets and diverting youthful energy away from deeper purpose.
Nonsense disguises itself as an inherent entertainer allowing a kind of creativity, humor and a playful approach with language that challenges conventions and provides a frictionless pleasure for listeners and readers. Nonsense offers mental shortcuts that cause systematic errors in our thinking. Rather than relying on logic or evidence our brains often default to quicker more intuitive judgments.
The flood of nonsensical agenda through social medias is largely influencing those minds who lack purpose, meaning, or personal authenticity. Advantage people’s ignorance the meaninglessness and helplessness become easy feed for nonsense influencers. Our national diversity is often subject to attempts of division in lines of status, caste etc. Involved with nonsense the life of such citizens isn't truly living but merely existing, far from good social values and against national interest.
Dealing with a nonsensical person it is less about changing their mind and more about managing one’s own reactions. Cross verifying their claims, identifying their self-interest motives you stop taking them seriously and remove their power to influence you in those matters.
A spiritual antidote: those who do not understand the One pure word of ONENESS, utter total nonsense. People may just be happy in their ignorance reading and studying falsehood entangling themselves in nonsense. The truth is the consequence will catch up sooner or later. Spiritualty can help one untangle with learnings to overcome I- me -mine, leaving no room for divisive nonsense.
None is perfect, so forgive my nonsense as I also forgive those who think they talk sense – let’s pray better sense prevails in all.
