The Bheja (brain) communicates with itself by transmitting chemicals from one neuron, or nerve, to the other. The brain craves and keeps humming with natural chemicals. Its regular rapid-fire messaging plays a big role in how you feel and function each day.
These brains chemicals formally known as neurotransmitters are excitatory, meaning they stimulate brain activity, or inhibitory, meaning they have a more calming effect. The Bheja (brain) is a complex highly sophisticated organ that controls, coordinates actions and reactions. The food we eat and the drinks we consume all influence our brain chemicals. Too much or too little” of chemicals can lead to mental disorders. There are many different chemicals in the brain but normally there are 5 often spoken about, hence a brief mention on them only to excite you to research at your end.

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their “Mind” to be. The mind uses the brain, and the brain responds to the mind. People choose their actions; their brains do not force them to do anything. The mind is energy and it generates energy through thinking, feeling, and choosing. The unique experience of life is courtesy the mind. Now that you know mind and brain are separate it puts you in the control seat because you can learn to manage your thoughts and actions, to choose to learn what was built in as a mislearn, change it and save your Bheja Fry condition. You can make feelings of depression, stress, anger and anxiety work for you instead of against you. You can bring the right balance back into your brain and live a better life. Gurbani is very expressive “Man jeete Jag jeete”.
By the Grace of the Holy, let your mind be imbued with the Lord's Love.
Know the One who created you, & in the world hereafter you shall be honoured in the Court of the Lord.
Your mind and body will be immaculate and blissful; chant the Name of the Lord of the Universe with your tongue.
Grant Your Kind Mercy, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek. SGGS866
