Remembering is arguably the most important aspect of memory. It is memory that processes taking in information from the world around us, processing it, storing it and later recalling that information.
The role of memory in our everyday lives is changing. The information we once kept in our head is now stored in devises and phones in a technology dominating surrounding. From a layman’s understanding it seems good if the common assumption in cognitive psychology and neuroscience is that we cannot possibly remember everything because our brains would not be able to hold memories of each and every experience and perception over a lifetime.
Learning is the acquisition of skill or knowledge, while memory is the expression of what you've acquired and the process of learning begins since childhood. Good learning’s must take importance but strangely teaching spirituality to children which merits them with natural empathic abilities, in particular with their parents is not a priority. Kids with a strong spirituality overall have greater grit, higher grades, more optimism and persistence than kids without a strong sense of spirituality. It also plays a significant role in child social, emotional and cognitive development. Importantly they develop a love for the earth and take action to protect it.
With maturity for many souls the creator bestows His grace and they keep him in remembrance. The peace of the meditative remembrance of creator has no end or limitation. I am too excited to share in Part 2 what the creator bestows upon mortals that remember him all the time. How the Lord stands by the mortal in this life and beyond. How seeking his mercy helps overcome our pains, sorrows, grief, troubles, failures. The creator is to be very much part of our inner self and there is constant remembrance while in sleep too.
We all claim to be in His remembrance but the fact of the matter we often easily fail in remembering HIM. A short story may correct our understanding how often we fail. A King in one of his travel late at night had to take shelter in an ashram. Kings soldiers were tired and soon slept alongside the ashram disciples, while the king chooses to interact with the elderly Mahapurash there. As they were strolling the king spoke of the high skills and calibre his soldiers had and then looking at the disciples and soldiers sleeping remarked “in sleep they all seem so equal”. The Mahapurash disagreed and the king said how can you be so sure. The mahapurash asked the king to throw water on some of them. King walked up to the area and sprinkled water on some of the soldiers. They got up startled and each one reacted with bad words and anger. He then sprinkled on some disciples they woke up gently taking the name of the lord a state they were when in sleep and now when awake they continue to remember their lord. Around us how often in sudden pain, shock, accident, a wrong by another, the first words we remember and react with are choicest of bad words.
Imagine the inconvenience and losses during a break in wifi connectivity resulting in failure of your gadgets to operate. Now ponder if the connectivity to Remember the Creator persists, the treasures the soul compounds with.
