Driving through the Umling Pass 29300ft (Ladakh) the highest motorable road in the world,  four friends had some great driving experiences and even received a few lessons on healing.

Enjoying the scenic drive they noticed at a distance an elderly monk slip and fall. They stopped the car and offered to give him a lift. The monk refused I am used to these things and this wound shall soon heal. One of the friends said you will do us a favour coming, as we will learn some things from our conversations. The old man agreed and joined them.

One of the friends said you confidently said the wound shall heal, tell us something about healing. The monk spoke healing takes courage. We all have courage but some do not dig the little bit within, to rise from depths of the deepest fears. We go out of our way to understand features on mobile, the mechanics of products, but do not take out time to know thyself.  We think who we are; we do not actually know who we are. To know yourself you must be with yourself. To be with yourself you must love yourself.

To heal thyself embrace your wound as your sacred teacher. Our body is a self-healing organism, its natural forces within are healers to many a mental and physical diseases that ordinary people develop. Often it is about clearing things out of the way so that the body can heal itself. Healing is a source of empathy and true understanding of compassion and forgiving.

On hearing the monk say his place is now a little away the person at the wheels sees a tea stall and stops the vehicle to get some more time with the monk. Sipping their tea and having noodles the monk continued, we all are healers who can reach out to offer health and we are all patients in constant need of help. Healing is not a quick fix it’s a continuous journey. There is no quick fix for your energy; no magic pill for your spirit, when it comes to healing one has to work on the root level having patience with yourself. Healing of ourselves, brings ourselves to wholeness then we become more sensitive to others and help healing others. Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.

Back in the car the friend driving said the fall you had was a reason to bring meaningful healing to us. Another friend said the healer in you has prepared us for our next love. We should all be healers, healing our inner scars, emotional damages, broken hearts and soul selflessly. The third friend said a healer seems someone that triggers within you your own ability to heal yourself.  The forth said to wound others comes so easy but to be a healer seems rare. The planet desperately needs more healers like you than our kind self-claimed successful people.

The monk requested to stop the car and in his parting advice said “The soul always knows how to heal but each one has to awaken their spirituality connect strongly and find courage to defeat the darkness of the soul”. The four friends touched the monk’s feet kept watching him until they lost his physical sight but holding on to his insights.

Gurbani in several verses teaches us about the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom and the eyes to behold the world. Love of the lord and the name of the Lord being the healing remedy for most of our pains and troubles. It also conveys the body heals when selfishness and conceit are erased and importantly the mind heals through the fear of God….(SGGS Ang 233,260,293,456,470,1118)

Be the healthy being, healing thyself and others, your gift to humanity.
