Guru Nanak ji did not believe in God he knew God said Satpal Singh (of Nanak Naam) in one of his videos. Something we humans need to pursue when relating to the Hukum. Believing would feel the Hukum at a distance, but try knowing HIM the experience comes within us. Many ordinary souls dedicated their way of living as per the Shabad Guru and with Naam Simran. They were fortunate to experience the Akal Purakh while they lived. Baba Nand Singh ji was one such soul.

A person approached Babaji and said I do not lie, I trade honestly, ache aur propkar karam karta hoon, is there a need to recite Parmatma’s Naam-Simran. Baba Nand Singh ji asked him to write a few zero on paper. He put 5 zeros Babaji then asked him what value is this, the man responded nothing- no value. Babaji asked him to put 1 before the zeros, now what value is it. He replied 1 lakh. The zeros is what our worldly doings are the real worthiness comes from Naam Simran.

Guru Nanak Devji in a congregation spoke about an instance and importance of Naam Simran & Sangat in one’s life. A widow is speaking to her teenage son. Your father has been a khandani thief and you will also become one. 3 things you need to swear to maintain which you father said before dying. Firstly never go to a Satsang, in fact do not even pass the lane it is being conducted. Secondly do not worry of your burglary skills they are in your blood and will come naturally. Thirdly when caught under no circumstances accept you have committed. With mothers blessings he starts and was successful. The spate of robberies in the kingdom drew the attention of the kings soon. One day the young man dared to commit burglary in the palace, during which his movements were found suspicious and an alarm was raised. The young man in his desperate bid to escape from guards had no choice but use a route where satsang was being conducted. Remembering father’s advice put his hands on ears to avoid hearing anything from the satsang. Just then a thorn pierced his feet and had to use his hands to remove it. While doing so he heard the words of the mahapurash “Devi Devtaon ki parshain (shadow) nahi hoti”. On removing the thorn he hurried away not giving much importance to what he heard and made no mention to his mother. The king in a few days put a secret ladies squad in action to identify and isolate the villager who sleeps during day to be active in the night. One lady over days of watch suspected this young man and had him arrested. The prison guards beat the young man for days but remembering his father’s advice he refused to accept the crime. Soon the King thought maybe we have the wrong man and was to release the man. The lady guard requested one more day of interrogation to get his confession. That night she disguised herself as a Devi with four hands, reduced the lights around the prison cell and arranged to manipulate the lock open on her command. The Devi roop entered the cell and said son, I have come to save you from the king tell me the truth. The young man believing her actually bowed his head in respect. Just then his eyes noticed a shadow of this Devi and he recalled words from the preacher at the satsang and immediately realised this is an act in play and reacted loudly pleading, “Devi you know the truth I am innocent free me”. The king later released the man and had the lady serve a sentence. The young man leaving the prison wondered, one line I heard from Satsang it saved me from a sure death sentence. What if I dedicate myself to more of these Satsang.

Well he soon started to attend satsang, he changed his profession and even had his mother to attend them.
