One’s who have graduated from procrastinating to “Doing” is good learning. Now if one is constantly ‘Doing’ and not ‘Being’ you will miss on all the beautiful moments in life. ‘Doing’ is what you do ‘Being’ is who you are.
Doing involves completing tasks towards predetermined goals. A constant monitoring, a focus on goals and a sense of ‘have to prevails’ on you. The doings puts more of you in action even when you delegate and at the end you still feel something is not organised. It’s the behaviour and all its visible manifestations that are at play.
The state of Being is fresh awareness, the mind has nowhere to go having a sense of freedom to focus on the present, keeping goals at distant but pursing important things with self-confidence and understanding of your strengths. When you are in being mode it allows oneself experience the present moment with all your qualities, thoughts, values, beliefs and assumptions.
Years back when professional lives began to separate themselves from personal lives people stopped celebrating themselves and gradually undermined their own confidence. The understanding that developed is you were “better” not because you were of better nature but something that one did which came from training and education. Relationships became more unstable because the intimate roles we play (mother, brother, friend) became something we do rather than something we are.
When you are living your life focusing on your strengths, you are living in being. Using your strengths things happen naturally well. The activities you struggle to grasp or never really achieve mastery of are examples of doing that just don't work. Stop telling yourself that you need to be good at everything and focus instead on what lights you up. It is in the being mode that you do not surround yourself with feelings of old habits of actions in the mind or body, unpleasant feelings stay out. The lockdown for many got their clutter out, many realised with much less it was still worthy to live, the isolation for many was finding themselves. The quieted sense of self draws easy to the divine. The thinking is clearer, speaking is truthful it spreads by being honest at work and with people.
The doings for many may not be easy to let go hence they are the Human Doings but a little shift in you doings will truly help you experience the Godly Human Being.
