Impact on younger minds

Shopping for thoughts may have been out of curiosity for some, by choice for few, some may have been advised to. No matter what took you there but its collections and learning’s is nothing less than dispelling ones sorrow and doubt and knowing that Guru–given spiritual wisdom, is the penance of penances.

The younger minds who took to shopping their initial findings make them wonder why all along 'Bhakti may Shakti' seems a prerogative of the elderly. The young minds recall most pressures, compulsions they were subject to was acquiring education to derive competency and skill for their carrier/profession. They find it funny the pundits of religion, were over ruled by marketing pundits. Their introduction to scripture learning’s was never influenced as much as are the worldly marketing strategies. A smartly done marketing exercise can promote any destructive, evil, poorest, incompetent product/theories/technologies to become our needs/desires. Every one outside us wants to sell something and we allow ourselves to be influenced easily. The brand ambassadors do not patronize what they testify/promote, while we take them seriously.

Going shopping and with just humble beginnings the young minds experience a connection to something larger than the ‘You’ they are. That inner ‘You’ which has to be awakened while young, to then make living every day in a reverent and sacred manner. A maturity comes how individuals must seek, to express meanings and purpose appropriately. The way to experience connectedness to the moment, to self, to others, to nature and most importantly with the divine. The education which is impressed upon will make you an officer but not a gentleman, you will become a doctor but fail in nobility, make you a public servant but you strive for private gains, you are a technocrat but bring developments destroying environment, you become a leader but unite to divide. Just the education is not enough; if the inner ‘You’ connect is absent you are simply endangering yourself and often others all because you failed shopping thoughts while young.

Scriptures have mentioned about thoughtless fools who fail to realize their breaths being used up, wearing away of their beautiful body, being engrossed in family play, placing hopes in transitory things, indulging in corrupt pleasures, wandering lost in countless incarnations.

Gurbani Ang 526 is an insight to what you could be reincarnated depending on your thoughts in your last moments. The read when you do surely influences a need of a change in thoughts. It also mentions the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord and dies in such thoughts, that person shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. Why forget the place where you must ultimately go and deprive yourself to manage a life better, purposeful and accomplishing.

As parents, teachers, guardians we have to be responsible to help younger minds discover spirituality; an individual’s practice in developing a sense of peace and purpose. With a mix of religion; that has set of organized beliefs and practices. This then helps conquer the mind and live a worthy life the divine way.

You may have gone shopping when you are aged, ensure your dear ones have an early start while ageing. Consider this to be your contribution of a responsible upbringing of young minds.
